Which conditions can acute care address?

• Strains, sprains, mild fractures, and other injuries
• Injuries from falls
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Animal bites
• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
• Minor head injuries
• Asthma attacks

In the case of a severe, life-threatening emergency, dial 911 or go to a nearby emergency room. 

What happens during acute care appointments?

You are weighed and have your temperature and blood pressure checked during an acute care appointment. Dr. Kommalapti discusses the reason for your visit, reviews your medical history, and completes an exam. 

You might need lab testing, imaging procedures, or other tests to diagnose your condition and determine the most appropriate treatment plan. 

Which acute care treatments are available?
